Keeping It Real with Video Content

Real is Better
As with most things in life, real is better.  What most people don't realize is that this extends to video content as well.  Below are a few important tips to remember when producing video content for your business.

1. Keep It Real:  People aren't stupid, (well, most aren't anyways), and they are going to recognize when video content is staged, fake or scripted.  Producing video content that is real, authentic and a genuine representation of your company and staff will appeal to people more than a staged and stiff corporate video.

2. Quantity Over Quality:  While some videos can have a longer shelf life, most video content has a short expiration date and relevance.  Business videos aren't the latest blockbuster that are going to be watched repeatedly and gain cult followings.  To keep your audience captive you must consistently produce video content that explains your company and products/services in many different ways.  Production doesn't have to break the bank.  You don't need lighting, actors or a huge budget,  you can even use your smartphone.

3. KISS (Keep it Simple & Short):  Yes, I know I've butchered this acronym but in video production apply the KISS rule.  Produce content that is easy to understand and fairly short (under 2 minutes is ideal).

4. Cost Effective:  Video can be one of the most cost effective ways to reach your audience. Video content can be used in presentations, websites, and Social Media sites.  A video works for you 24/7, telling your story in the places people will be looking for you.
